Marriott Vacation Club Destination Points

Destination points are the most flexible way to own at Marriott Vacation Club. It provides all the advantages of ownership but with the flexibility to travel where ever you wish.

The points-based program was started in June 2010, to give our guests the ability to reserve vacations throughout the entire Marriott Vacation portfolio easily. They can break up their points to do multiple trips or one extended vacation.

Is it ownership?

Yes. When you buy Destination Points, you are mostly buying deeded real estate in the Marriott Vacation Club Trust. The trust holds the property of the particular weeks at each of the properties. Each point has a specific value that is assigned. The value is based on multiple variations, such as; the length of stay, the resort, the week of travel, the number of bedrooms, etc. There are thousands of different combinations on how you can use your points.

How many points do I need?

Points can be purchased in blocks of 250 which are called Beneficial Interests. For example, if you own 1500 points, that would be six beneficial interests. 1500 is usually the starting point for point ownership, and then you can always increase them in the future.

The number of the points will vary depending on how you want to travel.
